You would never guess, but I spent most of my years constantly worried about what others thought about me. I was an overweight, heavy set teen that lacked confidence. When I turned 18, I enrolled myself in kickboxing.
I credit Martial Arts for transforming me into the person I am today.
I was highly insecure growing up. High school was hard. I felt like an outcast. I hope that by sharing my story, parents will consider Martial Arts for their young girls. I now know how to nourish myself and take care of my body.
I'm not the only person that has found confidence through Martial Arts. It comes naturally when you consistently train. It's your growth as a martial artist that gives you confidence, because it teaches you that you can accomplish any task you put your mind to.
Training in Martial Arts taught me self-discipline, which led to better eating habits. For the first time in my life, I saw muscle definition. My body completely transformed. I've been a size 14 and a size 4. I never felt comfortable in my own skin until I found fitness and health through Martial Arts.
