About our Frisco Location

Rockstar South Frisco opened its doors in 2015 under founder Kenny, who also served as a coach during the early years. Coach Joe was one of the original staff members, and after his departure to open his own gym, Coach Lucas joined the team from Brazil, bringing fresh energy and expertise.

Like many small businesses, the gym faced significant challenges during the COVID-19 pandemic. After a brief transition to new ownership that soon stepped away, Tim and Holly—parents of two athletes at South Frisco—stepped in to support the program and keep it moving forward. Throughout every transition, Coach Lucas remained committed to the athletes and the community.

In 2021, Lucas’s fiancée—now his wife—Bella moved from Brazil to join the team in the office . Today, Coach Lucas and Bella are working toward ownership of this gym that they have worked so hard for. Their dedication, along with the continued support of our families, athletes, and staff, represents the heart of who we are.

Head Coach – Ermilio Lucas Lima

Ermilio Lucas Lima began his Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu journey in his home country of Brazil, where his passion for the sport drove him to travel nationwide to compete. From an early age, Lucas embraced every opportunity to challenge himself, refine his technique, and grow as both an athlete and a martial artist. His dedication to jiu-jitsu has always been unmistakable — and today, that same passion fuels the inspiration he brings to his students.

Now the Head Coach of Rockstar Martial Arts South Frisco, Lucas is a proud husband to Isabella and father to Maui and Hana Lua. He holds a degree in Physical Education from a Brazilian university and spent more than 10 years working as a personal trainer, developing a deep understanding of the body, movement, and athletic performance. With over 16 years of personal jiu-jitsu experience, Lucas blends technical expertise with an engaging and motivating teaching style.

Lucas moved to the United States in 2019 with the dream of competing, and quickly found a home for his family in South Frisco. Since then, he has dedicated himself to changing lives through the power of jiu-jitsu — instilling discipline, confidence, respect, and resilience in students of all ages.

A passionate instructor, Lucas works with children, teens, and adults, from complete beginners to high-level competitors. He also leads the South Frisco competition team for kids, a high-performance group regarded as one of the strongest in the country. Under his leadership, the team has represented the academy across the United States and internationally in places like Portugal and Brazil, achieving major titles and earning national recognition.

In addition to coaching, Lucas remains an active competitor. With approximately 400 tournaments competed worldwide, he has earned significant achievements and continues to bring firsthand competitive experience to the mats.
